Removal
1. Turn the air suspension switch OFF.
2. Raise vehicle on a hoist. Suspension must be at full rebound.
3. Remove tire and wheel assembly.
4. Remove height sensor.
5. Remove air spring solenoid.
6. Remove the appearance cover from over the air spring attachments in the engine compartment. Remove the three nuts and the collar retaining the three air spring studs to the shock tower. Remove the lower nut and bolt to detach shock absorber from the lower suspension arm.

NOTE: Do not remove the front shock absorber's large center nut, as this may result in a permanent air leak through the top of the air spring.

7. Carefully remove the air spring/shock absorber.

CAUTION: Use extreme care to avoid damage to the ball joint seal. If the seal is damaged, replace the control arm assembly.

Installation
1. Install the air spring solenoid.
2. Position and fasten the three upper air spring studs through the shock tower, and loosely assemble the three nuts and the collar. The solenoid socket for the Left Hand or Right Hand spring should be oriented forward of the spring.
3. Place the lower end of the shock absorber over the lower suspension arm and loosely assemble with the nut and bolt.
4. Tighten the three upper attachment nuts over the shock tower to 23.2-31.7 N.m (17.2-23.4 lb-ft).
5. Attach the appearance cover over the top of the shock tower.
6. Connect the air line and electrical connector to the solenoid assembly.
7. Install height sensor.
8. Refill the air spring.
9. Replace the tire and wheel assembly.
10. Position the vehicle on an alignment rack.
11. Neutralize the front suspension bushings by pushing down, then releasing the front of the vehicle.
12. Tighten the lower shock absorber nut to 170-230 N.m (199-243 lb-ft).

CAUTION: Use extreme care to avoid damage to the ball joint seal. If the seal is damaged, replace the control arm assembly.
