DESCRIPTION

The 4R70W Transmission is an electronically controlled four speed automatic transmission. The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) uses inputs from various sensors to control the operation of the (4R70W) Transmission.
OPERATION

The Transmission Control Switch disables operation in fourth gear, allowing automatic operation through the first three gears. The (4R70W) Transmission has self-test capabilities much like those in other electronic control systems.
