EGR Valve: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove air cleaner outlet tube and engine air intake resonator.
2. Remove windshield wiper module assembly.
3. Disconnect vacuum hose from EGR valve.
4. Completely loosen the top EGR valve tube nut with a 22mm crowfoot wrench.
5. Remove retaining bolts from EGR valve. Remove EGR valve and gasket from intake manifold.

INSTALLATION
1. Clean intake manifold sealing surface to remove residual EGR valve gasket.
2. Position exhaust manifold tube nut into EGR valve and loosely connect.
3. Install new EGR valve gasket and bolts retaining valve to intake manifold.
- Tighten bolts to 26-33 lb. ft. (20-30 Nm).
- Tighten exhaust manifold tube nut at EGR valve to 26-33 lb.ft. (35-45 Nm).
4. Connect vacuum hose to EGR valve.
5. Install windshield wiper module assembly.
6. Install air cleaner outlet tube and air intake resonator.
