Front Center Sensor
Removal
WARNING: THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT NECESSARY FOR SYSTEM DEPLOYMENT IS POWERED DIRECTLY FROM THE BATTERY. TO AVOID ACCIDENTAL DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY, THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE MUST BE DISCONNECTED PRIOR TO SERVICING OR REPLACING ANY SYSTEM COMPONENTS.
NOTE: To service stripped air bag sensor retaining hardware, use nut and washer assembly part no. W620397-S36 and screw part no. N806327-S190. Tighten to 9.0-12.6 N.m (80-111 lb-in). To service stripped sensor bracket retaining hardware, use self tapping screw part no. N802455-S190. Tighten to 4.5-6.1 N.m (40-53 lb-in).
1. Disconnect positive battery cable.
2. Remove or loosen RH radiator clamp and air filter assembly.
3. Disconnect center front sensor electrical connector and wiring locator.
4. Remove two screws retaining center front sensor to bracket. Remove sensor from vehicle.
Installation
1. Position front center sensor with arrow pointing toward front of vehicle and secure to mounting bracket with two retaining screws. Tighten screws to 10.2-13.8(91-122 lb-in).
2. Connect front center sensor wire lead connector to wiring assembly connector and install wiring locator.
3. Install filter assembly and radiator clamp.
4. Connect positive battery cable.
5. Verify air bag indicator.
