Air Line: Service and Repair

NYLON AIR LINE SERVICE

Fig. 24 Nylon Air Line Repair:

If a leak is detected in an air line, it can be serviced by carefully cutting the line with a sharp knife to ensure a good, clean straight cut and installing a service fitting as shown in, Fig. 24. A protective cap and convoluted line protect air lines from the air dryer back over the left front shock tower. After exiting the protective tube the lines are routed to different areas. The LH front tube, gray, is routed down through the rear wall of the LH shock tower to the air spring solenoid. The RH front tube, black, is routed along the cowl on the RH side of the vehicle, then down through the rear wall of the RH shock tower to the air spring solenoid. The LH rear tube, green, is routed through the LH side apron to the fender well, then through the LH upper dash panel to the passenger compartment, down the dash panel to the LH rocker panel, then to the luggage compartment over the LH rear fender well. The LH air line routes down through the floorpan in front of the LH rear shock tower. The RH rear tube, tan, is routed across the rear seat support, then down through the floorpan in front of the RH rear shock tower.
