Oil Pump: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Drain engine oil and remove oil filter.
3. Remove oil pump retaining bolts (four) from engine front cover, then remove oil pump.
4. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque oil pump retaining bolts to 6-8 ft lb.
b. Torque four large engine front cover retaining bolts to 17-23 ft lb.
c. Torque oil pan drain plug to 15-25 ft lb.
d. Replace oil filter and fill engine with oil.
