Back Window - Lower Moulding Cover Rattles

LINCOLN-MERCURY: 1987-88 LINCOLN TOWN CAR
ISSUE: A rattle from the lower back window area may be caused by the lower moulding cover assembly being loose on the back window interior moulding, This cover assembly is behind the high mount brakelamp.
ACTION: To correct this, install a strip of vinyl foam tape on the inside of the lower moulding cover assembly using the following service procedure.
1. Remove the high mount brakelamp as shown in Section 32-10 of the 1987 Car Shop Manual.

2. Remove lower moulding cover assembly and apply a strip of vinyl foam tape (C6AZ-19627-A) to back of cover assembly, Figure 3, View C.
3. Reinstall lower moulding cover assembly onto back window moulding.
4. Reinstall high mount brakelamp.
