1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect all underhood wiring connectors from main wiring harness, Fig. 36. Remove rubber grommet seal from dash panel and push wiring harness and connectors into passenger compartment.
3. Remove steering column opening trim cover, then cover steel reinforcement, Fig. 37.
4. Remove right and left side sound insulators, Fig. 37.
5. Remove two hood release to cowl panel attaching screws, then right and left side cowl trim panels, Fig. 38.
6. Remove five steering column trim shroud attaching screws, remove shroud.
7. Disconnect all steering column electrical connectors, Fig. 39.
8. Remove four steering column to brake pedal support attaching nuts, then lower steering column, Fig. 40.
9. Remove defroster opening grill panel.
10. Remove screws attaching floor console to instrument panel and floor, and move console rearward.
11. Remove one screw attaching instrument panel to floor. Remove two instrument panel to cowl attaching screws, Fig. 41.
12. Remove nut attaching instrument panel to steering column support bracket.
13. Disconnect main wiring harness in the following areas:
a. Behind the instrument panel, Fig. 42.
b. Right side of steering column support.
c. At blower motor and right side cowl panel.
14. Disconnect radio antenna lead from the radio, then any vacuum hoses attached to the instrument panel.
15. Remove right and left side A-pillar garnish moldings, Fig. 43.
16. Remove three screws attaching instrument panel to dash panel.
17. Remove the instrument panel from the vehicle.
18. Reverse procedure to install.
