Catalytic Converter Bypass Valve Actuator: Testing and Inspection





2UR-FSE EMISSION CONTROL: HYDROCARBON ABSORBER CATALYST ACTUATOR: INSPECTION

1. INSPECT HYDROCARBON ABSORBER CATALYST ACTUATOR

(a) When a vacuum of 27 kPa (203 mmHg, 7.97 in.Hg) is applied to the diaphragm chamber, check that the shaft moves with no abnormal noise and that the retainer contacts the stopper.





If the result is not as specified, replace the vacuum hose, air control spring or hydrocarbon absorber catalyst actuator.

(b) Maintaining the above conditions, check that there are no leaks and that the shaft does not return.

If the result is not as specified, replace the vacuum hose or hydrocarbon absorber catalyst actuator.
