Removal





SUSPENSION: REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER: REMOVAL

NOTICE:
While the battery is connected, even if the power switch is OFF, the brake control system activates when the brake pedal is depressed or the door courtesy switch turns on. Therefore during servicing of the brake system components, do not operate the brake pedal or open/close the doors while the battery is connected.

1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT MAT SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal

3. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE BOARD LH (w/o Spare Tire)

4. REMOVE TOOL BOX

5. REMOVE SPARE TIRE

6. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH Removal

7. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

NOTICE:
* Some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected ( Repair Instruction - Initialization).
* After the power switch is turned OFF, the HDD navigation system requires approximately 6 minutes to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the power switch OFF, wait 6 minutes or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

(a) Support the rear suspension member with an engine lift and attachments.

CAUTION:
* As the rear suspension member is very heavy, securely support it with the engine lift and attachments.
* Perform this procedure with several people supporting the rear differential carrier assembly (with drive shaft) so that it does not tilt or fall.





(b) Remove the 4 bolts. Then remove the 2 lower rear suspension member stoppers, and the 2 lower differential support member stoppers.

(c) Lower the engine lift slowly, and remove the rear suspension member.

92. REMOVE REAR STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Remove the nut and disconnect the stabilizer link from the stabilizer bar.

HINT
If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a 6 mm hexagon wrench to hold the stud.

(a) Place matchmarks on the No. 2 suspension toe adjust plate and suspension member.





(b) Remove the nut, No. 2 toe adjust plate, toe adjust cam and toe control link from the suspension member.

(a) Using a chisel, widen the area between the rear suspension member and the body mounting cushion enough for the claws of SST.





(b) Using SST, remove the rear suspension member body mounting cushion.

NOTICE:
* Be careful as the rear suspension member body mounting cushion may come out with force.
* Do not reuse the removed rear suspension body mounting cushion.

(c) If the outer cylinder of the rear suspension member body mounting cushion remains, insert SST into the gaps between the rear suspension member and the body mounting cushion and remove it.

(1) Cut off the mounting cushion until SST can be set.





(2) Using SST, remove the outer cylinder of the body mounting cushion.

* Do not reuse the removed rear suspension body mounting cushion.

(b) If the outer cylinder of the rear suspension member body mounting cushion remains, insert SST into the gaps between the rear suspension member and the body mounting cushion and remove it.

(1) Cut off the mounting cushion until SST can be set.





(2) Using SST, remove the outer cylinder of the body mounting cushion.
