L110F HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL: HYBRID CONTROL SYSTEM: P2799-859: Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Pump Control Circuit High
P2799-859 - Auxiliary Transmission Fluid Pump Control Circuit High

DESCRIPTION

Refer to the description for DTC P2797-865 P2797.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION

The hybrid vehicle control ECU monitors the operation of the auxiliary transmission fluid pump. If the hybrid vehicle control ECU detects a malfunction of the auxiliary transmission fluid pump control circuit, the hybrid vehicle control ECU will illuminate the MIL and set a DTC.

WIRING DIAGRAM

Refer to the wiring diagrams for DTC P2798-858 P2798 and P2797-865 P2797.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
If P2798-858 is also output, troubleshoot P2798-858 first.

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU (CHECK WAVEFORM)

(a) Connect an oscilloscope to the hybrid vehicle control ECU terminals specified in the table below, and measure the waveform.

Result:

B -- CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
A -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (OIL PUMP MOTOR CONTROLLER CONNECTOR)

NOTICE:
Before disconnecting the connectors, confirm that they are properly connected by checking that the locking claws are engaged and that the connectors cannot be pulled out.

(a) Check the connections of the oil pump motor controller connectors.

OK:

The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact problems.

HINT
For connector A, when connecting it, insert it with the locking lever in the raised position. Rotate the lever downward and make sure that the connector is pulled into its socket. When the locking lever is in its fully closed position, a click will be heard as its locking claws engage. After the click is heard, pull up on the connector to confirm that it is properly connected.

NG -- CONNECT SECURELY
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR)

(a) Check the connections of the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

OK:

The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact problems.

NG -- CONNECT SECURELY
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK OIL PUMP MOTOR CONTROLLER

(a) Turn the power switch off.

(b) Disconnect connector A78 from the oil pump motor controller.

(c) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(d) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:

NOTICE:
Turning the power switch on (IG) with the oil pump motor controller connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

NG -- CHECK FUSIBLE LINK BLOCK ASSEMBLY (OIL PMP)
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - OIL PUMP MOTOR CONTROLLER)

(a) Turn the power switch off.

(b) Disconnect connector A74 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

(c) Disconnect connector A78 from the oil pump motor controller.

(d) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(e) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:

NOTICE:
Turning the power switch on (IG) with the hybrid vehicle control ECU and oil pump motor controller connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

(f) Turn the power switch off.

(g) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance (Check for open):

Standard resistance (Check for short):

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

6. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU

(a) Turn the power switch off.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

NG -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU Components

OK -- REPLACE OIL PUMP MOTOR CONTROLLER Components

7. CHECK FUSIBLE LINK BLOCK ASSEMBLY (OIL PMP)

(a) Check if there is an open circuit in the fusible link (OIL PMP) in the engine room No. 1 junction block.

OK:

There is no open circuit in the fusible link (OIL PMP).

NG -- REPLACE FUSIBLE LINK BLOCK ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

(a) Turn the power switch off.

(b) Remove the OIL PMP relay from the engine room No. 5 relay block.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance (Check for open):

Standard resistance (Check for short):

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

9. CHECK RELAY (OIL PMP)

(a) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

NG -- REPLACE RELAY (OIL PMP) Components
OK -- Continue to next step.

10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR

(a) Turn the power switch off.

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

11. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU

(a) Turn the power switch on (IG).

(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard voltage:

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU - ENGINE ROOM NO. 5 RELAY BLOCK)

OK -- REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU Components
