Hybrid Battery Service Switch: Service and Repair





Service Plug Removal Procedure


1 Move the shift lever to the P position and engage the parking brake.

2 Remove the key from the vehicle. Then disconnect the cable from the negative (-) terminal of the auxiliary battery.

3 Wear insulated gloves, and then remove the service plug.

NOTICE:
If the service plug cannot be removed due to damage to the rear portion of the vehicle, remove the IGCT NO.1 fuse from the engine room No.1 relay block instead.

2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT

(a) Check for DTCs L110 Hybrid Vehicle Control System.

NOTICE:
Confirm that P0AA6 (high voltage insulation is unusual) is not output before doing removal or installation work inside the battery. If the DTC is output, perform the troubleshooting procedure for the DTC first.

3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT

4. REMOVE BATTERY SERVICE HOLE COVER LH

(a) Remove the 2 clips and battery service hole cover.

5. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.

6. REMOVE SERVICE PLUG GRIP

CAUTION:
* Remove the service plug grip to interrupt a high voltage circuit at the time of the check.
* Keep the removed service plug grip in your pocket to prevent other technicians from accidentally reconnecting it while you are servicing the vehicle.
* All the high voltage wiring connectors are colored in orange.
(a) Remove the battery service hole cover.





(b) Wear insulated gloves. Remove the service plug grip after sliding the lever of the service plug grip.

CAUTION:
* Keep the removed service plug grip in your pocket to prevent other technicians from accidentally reconnecting it while you are servicing the vehicle.
* After removing the service plug grip, wait for at least 10 minutes before touching any of the high-voltage connectors or terminals.
NOTICE:
After removing the service plug grip, do not operate the power switch as it may damage the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
