No. 1 Clearance Warning Buzzer Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The clearance warning ECU receives the ultrasonic sensor signal to sound the clearance warning buzzer.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the engine switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Turn the clearance sonar main switch ON.
(e) Select the Active Test, use the Techstream to generate a control command, and then check that the buzzer operates.

OK:
The clearance warning buzzer sounds.
NG -- INSPECT FUSE (RH-IG)
OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
2. INSPECT FUSE (RH-IG)
(a) Remove the RH-IG fuse from the cowl side junction block RH
(b) Measure the resistance of the RH-IG fuse.
Standard Resistance:






NG -- REPLACE FUSE (RH-IG)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER - BATTERY)




(a) Disconnect the clearance warning buzzer connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLEARANCE WARNING ECU - CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER)




(a) Disconnect the clearance warning ECU connector.




(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:






NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. INSPECT CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER




(a) Apply battery voltage and check operation of the clearance warning buzzer, as shown in the table.
OK:





HINT: The clearance warning buzzer does not sound without battery voltage applied because the buzzer is a separately-excited type.

NG -- REPLACE CLEARANCE WARNING BUZZER
OK -- REPLACE CLEARANCE WARNING ECU
