Tire Pressure Monitor Receiver / Transponder: Service and Repair

TIRE PRESSURE WARNING RECEIVER

COMPONENTS:





REMOVAL
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
(a) Remove the roof headlining.





3. REMOVE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the receiver connector.
(b) Remove the bolt and receiver.

INSTALLATION





1. INSTALL TIRE PRESSURE WARNING RECEIVER ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the receiver with the bolt.
Torque: 7.5 N*m (77 kgf*cm, 66 in.*lbf)
(b) Connect the receiver connector.
2. INSTALL ROOF HEADLINING ASSEMBLY
(a) Install the roof headlining.
3. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
4. INITIALIZE SYSTEM
(a) Perform initialization.

NOTICE:
Be sure to inflate all tires (including the ground spare tire) to the proper inflation pressure before initialization.

5. INSPECT TIRE PRESSURE WARNING SYSTEM
(a) Inspect the tire pressure warning system.
6. PERFORM INITIALIZATION
(a) Perform initialization.

HINT:
Some systems need initialization after reconnecting the cable to the negative battery terminal.
