Side Airbag Sensor Assembly
REPLACEMENT1. PRECAUTION
2. SEPARATE BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
3. REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSY
4. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE COVER [71952 / 98-98]
5. REMOVE WIND DEFLECTOR BOARD ASSY [63230D / 98-98]
6. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST PLATE [71944A / 98-98]
7. REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSY [71940A / 98-98]
8. REMOVE REAR SEAT BACK ASSY
9. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSY LH [67920 / 98-89]
10. REMOVE QUARTER TRIM PANEL ASSY FRONT LH [62520P / 98-89]
11. REMOVE SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY LH [89860A / 98-140]
a. Disconnect the connector from the side airbag sensor assy LH.
b. Remove the 3 nuts and side airbag sensor assy LH.
12. INSTALL SIDE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY LH [89860A / 98-140]
a. Install the 3 nuts and side airbag sensor assy LH
Torque: 20 N.m (200 kgf.cm, 14 ft.lbf)
b. Connect the side airbag sensor connector.
NOTE:
- Installation of the connector is done with the sensor assy installed. Make sure the sensor assy is installed with the specified torque.
- If the sensor assy has been dropped, or there are cracks, dents or other defects in the case, bracket or connector, replace the sensor assy with a new one.
- When installing the sensor assy, take care that the SRS wiring does not interfere with other parts and is not pinched between other parts.
- After installation, shake the sensor assy to check that there is no looseness.
