Update Prior to Sale: Map and Point of Interest Data Update
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
VIN: DA759617 - DA784761 (specific USA vehicles only)
Range Rover Sport (LS)
Model Year: 2013
CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
To ensure 2013 model year Range Rover Sport vehicles are equipped with the very latest Navigation system map and Point of Interest (POI) data, a limited number of vehicles within the listed VIN range require a Navigation system map update.
Action:
Retailers are required to before sale HOLD all affected vehicles in the listed VIN range that are in their control and refrain from releasing the vehicles for new or used vehicle sale pending completion of the
rework action detailed in this Technical Bulletin.
PARTS:
Retailers have received three (3) USB memory devices, free of charge, direct from NOKIA (refer to Service ALERT SA12GI-13). Eligible vehicles require a VIN-based PIN for map data download. Refer to UPS5712
VIN PIN List on InfoTrail for each vehicles unique PIN (InfoTrail > Bulletins / Publications > Technical Library > UPS5712 VIN PIN List).

NOTE:
Repair procedures are under constant review, and therefore times / prices are subject to change; those quoted here must be taken as guidance only. Always refer to DDW to obtain the latest repair time. Check DDW to ensure that the vehicle is affected by this program prior to undertaking any rework action. At the time of confirming a booking for vehicle repair, ensure that all outstanding Service Actions are identified to ensure the correct parts are available and adequate workshop time is allocated for repairs to be completed at one visit.
Warranty claims must be submitted quoting Program Code 'Q229' together with the relevant Option Code from the table. The SRO and part information listed have been included for information only. The Option Code(s) that allows for the drive in / drive out allowance can only be claimed if the vehicle is brought back into the workshop for this action alone to be undertaken.
This program is valid for a limited time only. Warranty claims with a repair date prior to the 08 May 2013 closure date must be submitted for payment within 30 calendar days of completion of the repair.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
NOTE:
This update can take up to 2.5 hours to complete (no interaction is required during the download).
NOTE:
During the update of the navigation map, navigation, entertainment and telephone features are not operational until the update is complete.
NOTE:
If the ignition is switched OFF during the map update, the update will continue automatically the next time the vehicle is started.
NOTE:
It is recommended that the vehicle is not interfered with during the map download process.
NOTE:
If an on-screen instruction appears on the touchscreen stating map update has paused; press the cancel button to continue the update.
1. WARNING: When working on a vehicle in the workshop, always make sure that:
^ The vehicle is not parked as to restrict airflow to the front of the engine / grill area.
^ The transmission is in Park (P).
^ he parking brake is ON.
^ There is adequate ventilation or an extraction hose is used to remove exhaust fumes.
Start the engine and allow to idle.
2. Insert the USB stick containing the navigation map data into the USB interface.
3. Follow the instructions on the touch screen.
4. NOTE: The on-screen instructions may refer to disk during the download process of a DVD-based system. If an on-screen instruction appears on the touchscreen stating map update has paused; press the cancel button to continue the update. Enter the map license code.
5. When the update is downloaded, a complete message will be displayed on the touch screen.
^ Press OK to restart the navigation system, and then remove the USB stick immediately from the USB interface.
^ Allow 3 minutes for the navigation to restart.
6. Exit and lock the vehicle and leave for at least 15 minutes before using the navigation system.
