Active On-Demand Coupling Drive Pinion Seal
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.

Removal

WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
1 Raise the vehicle on the lift.
2 Remove the differential drive flange.

3 Carefully remove and discard the pinion oil seal.

Installation

CAUTION: Only use the specified material to lubricate the seals.
1 Lubricate the oil seal.

Using the special tool, install a new oil seal.

Installer, Active On-demand Pinion Seal, 205-862-1
Tap in the seal until the head of the drift is against the active on-demand coupling housing.
2 Install the differential drive flange.
