Surround Camera System Software Update

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
VIN: CH000447 - CH688304
Range Rover Evoque (LV)
Model Year: 2012

CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
On vehicles fitted with the Surround Camera System, the Parking Aid Camera image may appear to be blurry / unclear and the colors may appear to bleed into the surrounding objects.

Cause:
This may be caused by the camera software.

Action:
In the event of a customer concern of the above, refer to the Repair Procedure outlined below.

PARTS:
No parts required

TOOLS:
IDS with latest IDS-DVD and Calibration File; first available on IDS-DVD130.05 v.111
Land Rover-approved Midtronics Vehicle Power Supply
Refer to Workshop Manual for any required special tools

DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.

REPAIR PROCEDURE

UPDATE THE CONTROL MODULE SOFTWARE

1. CAUTION: Make sure that the rear camera lens is
clean and free from debris.





NOTE:
Image shows a typical fault.

Identify the clarity of the Parking Aid Camera image.
^ If the image is clear and the colors do not bleed into surrounding objects, no further action is required.





^ If the image is blurry or the colors do bleed into surrounding objects, continue to step 2.

2. CAUTION: Ensure all ignition 'ON' / ignition 'OFF'
requests are carried out; failure to perform these steps may cause damage to control modules in the vehicle.

CAUTION:
A Land Rover-approved Midtronics Vehicle Power Supply must be connected to the vehicle battery during IDS diagnosis / module
programming.

Connect the Land Rover-approved Midtronics Vehicle Power Supply to the vehicle battery.

3. Turn ignition 'ON' (engine not running).

4. NOTE: IDS must be loaded with IDS-DVD130.05 v.111 or later.
Connect the IDS to the vehicle and begin a new Symptom Driven Diagnostics (SDD) session.

5. Follow the on-screen prompts, allowing SDD to read the VIN and identify the vehicle.

6. From the Session Type selection screen, choose 'Diagnosis'.

7. Select the 'Selected Symptoms' tab, and then select:

^ Electrical > Driving aids > Camera display > Image distorted.

8. Select 'continue'.

9. Select the 'Recommendations' tab.

10. From the Recommendations tab, select 'Run' to perform the Configure existing module - Image processing control module' option

^ Follow all on-screen instructions to complete this task.

11. Exit the current session.

12. Disconnect the IDS and the Midtronics Vehicle Power Supply from the vehicle.
