Selector Lever Assembly

Service Repair No - 44.15.04


Removal

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the floor console upper panel.

NOTE:
Collect the plastic spacer from the selector lever cable.

3. Release the selector lever cable.
1) Remove the selector lever clip from the selector lever inner cable.
2) Remove the selector lever housing clip from the selector cable.





4. Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.





5. Release the gearshift interlock cable.
^ Remove the bolt.
^ Remove the clamp.





6. Remove the selector lever assembly.
^ Remove the 3 nuts.





Installation
1. Install the selector lever assembly.
^ Tighten the 3 nuts to 9 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).

CAUTION: Make sure that the selector lever and the gearshift mechanism are in the park (P) position.

CAUTION: Make sure that the gearshift interlock mechanism is in the locked position. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the vehicle.

2. Install the gearshift interlock cable.
^ Position the transmission selector lever into PARK.
^ Make sure that the gearshift interlock mechanism is in the locked position.
^ Install the clamp.
^ Install the bolt and tighten to 9 Nm (7 ft. lbs.).





3. Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
4. Install the selector lever cable.
^ Install the selector lever housing clip to the selector lever cable.
^ Install the plastic spacer to the selector lever cable.
^ Install the selector lever clip to the selector lever inner cable.

5. Install the floor console upper panel.
6. Connect the battery ground cable.

CAUTION: Make sure that the gearshift interlock mechanism will lock the gear selector lever in the PARK position. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the vehicle.

7. Check the operation of the gearshift interlock mechanism.
