Removal
1. WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.
Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the transmission support insulator nut, bolt and damper.
Support the transmission.
3. CAUTION: To avoid damage to the joints or gaiters, do not allow the transmission to hang on the driveshafts.
Remove the shift motor.
Lower the transmission.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
Remove the 4 Torx(R) bolts.
Installation
1. Install the shift motor.
Clean the components.
Tighten the Torx(R) bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs).
Connect the electrical connector.
2. Install the transmission support insulator nut, bolt and damper.
Raise the transmission.
Tighten the nut and bolt to 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs).
3. Use T4 to re-calibrate a new transfer case shift motor.
