Inspection and Verification
1. Verify the customer concern.
2. Visually inspect for obvious electrical faults..
Mechanical Electrical
^ Rear lamp(s) condition ^ Fuses Battery junction box (BJB) - link and fitment
^ 15E BJB - link 16E BJB - link 11E BJB - link 25E Central junction box (CJB) - Fuse 2P CJB - Fuse 4P CJB - Fuse 18P CJB - Fuse 67P CJB - Fuse 62P
^ License lamp(s) ^ Relays Rear/License lamp relay
condition and fitment Automatic headlamps relay
^ Bulbs and fitment ^ Wiring harness
^ Bulb holders ^ Loose or corroded connector(s)
and fitment
^ Lighting control ^ Battery junction box (BJB)
switch and fitment
^ Rain/Light sensor ^ Central junction box (CJB)
condition and fitment
^ Rain/Light sensor control module
^ Local interconnect network (LIN) circuits
^ Controller area network (CAN) circuits
3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
4. Use the approved diagnostic system or a scan tool to retrieve any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) before moving onto the symptom chart or DTC index.
^ Because the DTCs are stored in more than one module, a complete vehicle read is recommended
^ Make sure that all DTCs are cleared following rectification
