Inspection and Verification
1. Verify the customer concern.
2. Visually inspect for obvious mechanical or electrical faults.
Mechanical Electrical
^ Check for the fitment of non-standard - Fuses Battery junction box (BJB)
accessories which may affect or obstruct - fuse 11E Centraljunction box (CJB)
the function of the SRS system - fuse 9P Central junction box(CJB) - fuse 68P
^ Frayed or damaged webbing - Wiring harness
^ Buckles/Stalks, etc - Warning lamp bulb(s)
^ Reels - Impact sensor(s)
^ Sensor(s) - Buckle sensor(s)
^ Pretensioner(s) - Pretensioner(s)
- Restraints control module (RCM)
3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
^ Faults in SRS harnesses would normally mean replacement of the relevant harness. SRS harness repairs are not recommended
4. Use the approved diagnostic system or a scan tool to retrieve any DTCs before moving onto the dynamic checks or the DTC index.
^ Make sure that all DTCs are cleared following rectification.
