Inspection and Verification

1. Verify the customer concern.
2. Visually inspect for obvious electrical faults..

Mechanical Electrical
^ Headlamp leveling motor(s) and ^ Fuses Battery junction box (BJB) - link
linkage(s) condition and fitment 11E Central junction box (CJB) - Fuse 61P CJB - Fuse 56P CJB - Fuse 27P CJB - Fuse 62P
^ Lighting control switch and fitment ^ Wiring harness
^ Left-hand steering column ^ Loose or corroded connector(s)
multifunction switch and fitment
^ Battery junction box (BJB)
^ Central junction box (CJB)
^ Adaptive front lighting system (AFS) module
^ Headlamp power modules
^ Engine control module (ECM)
^ Anti-lock brake system (ABS) control module
^ Air suspension control module
^ Local interconnect network (LIN) circuits
^ Controller area network (CAN) circuits

3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
4. Use the approved diagnostic system or a scan tool to retrieve any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) before moving onto the symptom chart or DTC index.
^ Because the DTCs are stored in more than one module, a complete vehicle read is recommended
^ Make sure that all DTCs are cleared following rectification
