Front Door Latch: Service and Repair

Latch - Front Door

Service Repair No - 76.37.12

This procedure is also applicable to the rear door latch.

Remove

1. Ensure window is fully raised.
2. Remove plastic sheet.







3. Release sill button lock rod from door latch.
4. Remove rod.
5. Disconnect multiplug from latch.
6. Disconnect door handle release cable from latch assembly.







7. Remove 3 Torx screws securing latch to door.
8. On drivers door, release door lock barrel paddle from latch.
9. Remove latch from aperture.







10. Remove internal release cable and latch as an assembly.
11. Open security flap on latch.
12. Release interior release cable clamp from latch.
13. Disengage interior release cable from latch.
14. Remove cable.

Refit

1. Secure interior release cable to latch and close latch security flap.
2. Position latch to door. On drivers door, align lock barrel paddle to latch.
3. Position door latch fit Torx screws and tighten to 10 Nm (7 lbf.ft).
4. Connect outer release cable to latch assembly.
5. Connect multiplug to door latch.
6. Fit sill button lock rod to latch.
7. Check operation of door latch.
8. Fit plastic sheet.
