Remove
1. Position the vehicle on lift.
2. Release bonnet support stays, raise and secure bonnet in upright position.
3. Disconnect battery earth lead.

CAUTION: After switching off the ignition, wait 2 minutes before disconnecting the battery. Failure to wait two minutes will damage the navigation computer.

4. Raise vehicle on lift.
5. Remove the front road wheels.
6. Remove front propeller shaft.

7. Remove steering rack.

8. Remove nut securing RH height sensor link to lower arm and release link.

9. Remove and discard bolt securing RH lower arm to sub-frame.
10. Remove and discard bolt securing RH tie rod to sub-frame.

11. Release lower arm and tie rod from sub-frame. Support weight of both arms.
12. Remove nut securing LH anti-roll bar link to damper.

CAUTION: Use an open ended spanner on flats provided to prevent ball joint rotating.

13. Remove LH anti-roll bar link and collect washer.

CAUTION: Note position of washer for refit.

14. Drain oil from differential.
15. Fit LRT-54-026 to the RH driveshaft inboard joint.

16. Using levers, release driveshaft from differential.
17. Support the RH driveshaft, lower arm and tie rod, using a suitable 3/8 drive extension through the sub-frame mount.
18. Remove LRT-54-026 from RH driveshaft inboard joint.

19. Raise anti-roll bar and retain in raised position with wooden block between anti-roll bar and sub-frame.

20. Disconnect breather hose from differential and remove 4 differential securing bolts

NOTE: Securing bolt above pinion remains captive to differential due to access.

21. With assistance, release differential assembly from engine sump. Raise and twist differential assembly so that input end is downwards, and remove the differential assembly through the sub-frame.
22. With assistance, remove differential assembly through LH wheel arch aperture.
23. Remove and discard RH driveshaft clip.
24. Remove and discard sump/differential housing O-ring.

NOTE: Do not carry out further dismantling if component is removed for access only.

25. Remove and discard LH drive shaft oil seal from differential housing.

Refit

1. Clean the differential mating faces.
2. Using LRT-54-028 fit new LH drive shaft oil seal to differential housing.
3. Fit new clip to RH driveshaft.
4. Fit new sump/differential housing O-ring and lubricate with petroleum jelly.
5. With assistance, carefully fit differential. Fit bolts, but do not tighten at this stage.

NOTE: Securing bolt above pinion must be located in differential prior to fitment.

6. Align the differential.
7. Fit front propeller shaft.
8. Connect breather hose to differential.
9. Remove wooden block and allow anti-roll bar to return to lowered position.
10. Fit washer to ball joint, fit LH anti-roll bar link, fit nut and tighten to 100 Nm (74 ft. lbs.).

CAUTION: The washer is hardened and must be fitted in the correct position.

11. Remove RH driveshaft support.
12. Fit RH driveshaft to differential ensuring clip is fully engaged.

CAUTION: Pull the drive shaft to ensure the clip is fully engaged and retains the shaft.

13. Remove RH tie rod and lower arm support.
14. Position RH lower arm and align to sub-frame fit new bolt but do not tighten at this stage.

CAUTION: Nuts and bolts must be tightened with weight of vehicle on suspension.

15. Position RH tie rod and align to sub-frame fit new bolt but do not tighten at this stage.

CAUTION: Nuts and bolts must be tightened with weight of vehicle on suspension.

16. Connect RH front height sensor link and tighten nut to 8 Nm (6 ft. lbs.).

CAUTION: Use an open ended spanner on flats provided to prevent ball joint rotating.

17. Fit steering rack.
18. Lower vehicle.
19. Tighten bolt securing RH lower arm to sub-frame to 165 Nm (121 ft. lbs.). plus a further 90°.
20. Tighten bolt securing RH tie rod to sub-frame to 165 Nm (121 ft. lbs.). plus a further 90°.
21. Fill differential to correct level with oil.
22. Release bonnet, connect gas struts to bonnet and secure with clips.
23. Connect battery earth lead.
24. Check and if necessary adjust wheel alignment.
