SERVICE ACTION Third Row Audio Control Module
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
Discovery Series II (LT) Specific VIN within range 2A748642 - 2A755051
SITUATION:
THIRD ROW SEAT AUDIO CONTROL MODULE OMITTED IN PRODUCTION
As the result of a program option change, a small number of seven passenger SE7 Discovery Series II vehicles were manufactured without the rear audio control module.
RESOLUTION:
INSPECT POPULATION VEHICLES AND INSTALL MISSING CONTROL MODULE
Vehicles with the mis-build condition are easily identified by the missing module. When inspection confirms the mis-build, install the provided module pair in the affected vehicle.
PARTS INFORMATION:
NOTE:
Modules are being supplied directly to affected retailers from Land Rover at no charge. Any backorders generated by parts order to resolve this mis-build should be cancelled.
^ Parts will be shipped with a VIN listing indicating the vehicles to be repaired.
^ Some vehicles may have modules installed. Excess modules should be returned to Land Rover within 30 days of receipt at:

^ If a vehicle is encountered outside of the VIN listing with missing modules, contact the Land Rover HelpLine to obtain an additional supply for that specific VIN.

WARRANTY CLAIMS:
HU03 (Option 1) Time 0.20 hrs.
Inspect vehicle for missing audio control
HU03 (Option 2) Time 0.30 hrs.
Inspect vehicle for missing audio control and install missing components
Normal warranty policy and procedures apply.
Material allowance and drive-in/drive-out time included in labor operation.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
INSPECT AND REPAIR IF INDICATED
1. Inspect module location next to second row seat belt opening to determine if module is present.
2. If module is present, Claim Option 1 and go to Install Service Campaign Label.
3. If modules are not present, perform the following:
^ Carefully remove blanking plate to access wiring for module on each side of vehicle.
^ Pull module connectors through openings.
^ Connect supplied modules to the wiring harnesses.
^ Install modules with "MODE" switch toward the seatbelt. (Figure 1)
^ Install Service Campaign Label.
INSTALL SERVICE CAMPAIGN LABEL
NOTE:
Campaign labels may have multiple Campaign numbers written on them if multiple campaigns are performed at the same time.
1. Obtain a Campaign label (LRN0002LABEL) and prepare as follows:
a) Place the label on a hard surface.
b) Use a ballpoint pen and neatly write in the bare aluminum areas of the label the following information:
^ Service Action campaign code "HU03"
^ Your retailer code
^ Date of repair
CAUTION:
Do not touch the exposed label adhesive with your fingers. The bond will be diminished if contaminated prior to application.
2. Clean all grease and dirt from an area of the radiator support member.
3. Peel the completed campaign label from the backing paper and position it on the cleaned area of the cross member.
4. Roll the label with the special roller tool to ensure that the adhesive makes continuous contact with the cross member surface.
