Early SLABS ECU Replacement

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

DISCOVERY Series II (LT) XA200412 to XA204130
XA900000 to XA900822

SITUATION:

SLABS ECU PROGRAMMING

A software communications condition may exist in early production SLABS ECU's, that can cause unintended illumination of brake-related warning lights. These ECU's are supposed to have been replaced by port operations or by the repair procedures and components forwarded for Demonstration and Evaluations Vehicles.

RESOLUTION:

VERIFY YELLOW DOT AND REPLACE THE ECU

Incorrect ECU's are easily identified by a yellow stick-on dot located on the ECU behind the glovebox.

Should a customer complain of the illumination of all brake-related warning lights, inspect to confirm if the ECU has the yellow dot. Replace the ECU if the yellow dot is identified.
