Second Row Seat Squeak

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

SITUATION:

SECOND ROW SEAT SQUEAK

Customers may experience squeaks from rear seats. The noise is the result of insufficient lubrication at the hinge joints for the folding rear seats.

RESOLUTION:

LUBRICATE HINGE

Upon customer complaint of the symptoms outlined above, perform the lubrication process outlined in the procedure. Exercise care to ensure that lubricants do not come in contact with carpeting or seat upholstery materials.

^ Dry Lubricant - PTFE Silicon-based spray

WARRANTY CLAIMS:

76.90.89/30 Time 0.20 hrs.
Lubricate second row seat hinges - Both sides

FAULT CODE: K

Normal warranty policy and procedures apply

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

LUBRICATE 40% SEAT SIDE

CAUTION:
Care should be taken not to damage end covers when removing and refitting.

1. Fold rear 40% seat forward.





2. Remove screws securing end covers and remove covers. (Figure 1)





3. Spray lubricant into pivot points. (Figure 2)

4. Clean any excess lubricant from seat.

5. Install end covers.

6. Reposition 40% side of seat.

LUBRICATE 60% SEAT SIDE

1. Fold rear 60% seat forward.





2. Remove screws securing end covers and remove covers. (Figure 1)





3. Spray lubricant into pivot points. (Figure 2)

4. Clean any excess lubricant from seat.

5. Install end covers.

6. Reposition 60% side of seat.
