Timing Sunroof Motor
CAUTION:Timing of the motor before refitting is very important for the correct operation of the sunroof. The motor must be connected to the roof assembly when the roof is in the closed position.
1. Insert Allen key into socket located on underside of the motor gearbox when viewing motor on counting wheel microswitch side.
2. Rotate motor until the timing notch lines up with the edge of the microswitch (Figure 8 positions A and B).
CAUTION:
Yellow timing pegs must remain in place at this stage of the operation.
3. When the motor is correctly timed, install three motor retaining screws into sunroof assembly and tighten to 2.0 to 3.0 Nm (18 to 27 lbf. in.).
4. Remove yellow timing pegs.
CAUTION:
Start engine before cycling sunroof to ensure full operating voltage. Cycling the sunroof is required to overcome any initial tightness in operation of the sunroof system.
5. Start the engine and cycle each repaired sunroof once to ensure correct timing.
6. Cycle each repaired sunroof six additional times to ensure proper operation.
7. Road test vehicle and verify that sunroofs do not rattle in the fully open or tilt positions.
8. Before refitting trim, apply yellow paint mark to underside of the repaired sunroof cassette at the middle front edge, next to date code.
9. Install headlining and trim.
