Oil Cooler: Service and Repair

Oil Cooler

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery negative lead.
2. Raise the vehicle.

WARNING: Support on safety stands.

3. Remove front grille.





4. Release 2 clips securing hood release cable to hood platform.
5. Remove 4 bolts securing hood platform. Remove platform.





6. Remove 4 bolts from condenser mounting brackets. Collect 2 brackets.
7. Position container to catch oil spillage.
8. Disconnect pipes from oil cooler. Remove O-rings and discard.
9. Remove 2 bolts securing oil cooler to radiator bracket.
10. Remove rail coolers

INSTALLATION
1. Position oil cooler to radiator bracket. Secure with bolts.
2. Using new O-rings, connect pipes to oil cooler. Tighten unions to 30 Nm (22 ft. lbs.).
3. Remove container.
4. Position condenser brackets. Secure with bolts.
5. Install hood platform. Secure with bolts.
6. Secure release cable to hood platform with clips.
7. Install front grille.
8. Remove safety stands. Lower vehicle.
9. Reconnect battery negative lead.
10. Check engine oil level. Top-up if necessary.
