Hood Ground Strap Installation

NOTE:
Fasten the ground strap to the right side of the engine compartment between the hood hinge and the back of the right side cylinder head. The threaded hole is already present in the back of cylinder head and the bolt comes supplied with the ground strap kit (figure 5).

1. Remove the right front hood hinge bolt and washer (hood side of hinge). Clean bolt hole area with emery cloth until it is clean and free of paint (figure 5).

2. Attach the ground strap (flat side of eyelet towards hood hinge) to the hood hinge using the original bolt and washer.

3. Seal area with Pinitrol AV-50 wax.

4. Route the ground strap along the inside of the engine compartment firewall and wire tie it to the plastic tubing that goes to the EVAP canister (figure 5).

5. Attach the ground strap to the back of the right side cylinder head using the existing threaded hole and the bolt supplied in the ground strap kit (figure 5).
