Coolant Sensor

The coolant sensor is vital for the GEMS unit to adequately sense the temperature of the engine. If the sensor fails then a default value based on air/fuel temperature will be used.

^ P0125 warm up fault is designed to capture engine related faults that restrict the engine warming up in a timely manner. Where a P0125 code has been flagged in a 96MY Discovery, before proceeding with any further diagnostics, confirm that the thermostat is functioning correctly.

^ P0125 can also be induced on 96MY Discovery in cold weather, typically 0 degrees Celsius and colder and may be related to the warm up profile of the engine. If problems persists, contact the HelpLine for further assistance.

^ Coolant sensor High/Low range codes can be attributed to dirty/bad contacts at the sensor or GEMS ECM. Please fill out a full report and contact HelpLine if you encounter these faults.
