Removal Front

1. Raise vehicle, and support axle on jack stands.

2. Remove road wheel.

3. Remove brake hose clips and remove brake caliper.

! Take care to support caliper so that the brake hose is not stressed or kinked.





4. Pry off dust cap.

5. Remove snap ring and axleshaft shim from the axleshaft.

6. Loosen five bolts and remove driving member and gasket.

7. Bend back lock washer tabs, loosen and remove locknut and lock washer (discard Jock washer).

8. Remove hub adjusting nut and spacing washer.

9. Remove hub and brake disc assembly complete with bearings.

10. Drain swivel housing and refit plug.

11. Remove six bolts holding stub axle to swivel housing.





12. Remove mud shield, stub axle, and gasket (figure 2).





13. Remove bearing and oil seal using tool # LRT-37-004 and slide hammer # LRT-99-004. Make sure that the lip of the tool engages behind bearing to pull it out (figure 3).

14. Use same procedure to remove oil seal.
