Passenger Side

WARNING: All the air bag system components, including the wiring harness, MUST be renewed after the airbags have deployed.

REMOVE
1. Switch off ignition. Disconnect the battery negative lead.
2. Open glovebox.





3. Use special socket and long extension, remove 2 tamper-proof screws securing front of air bag module to dash panel.
4. Use special socket, remove 2 tamper-proof screws securing rear of air bag module to dash panel.
5. Release air bag module from dash panel.


CAUTION: Do not allow the air bag module to hang by the air bag harness.





6. Disconnect harness connector from air bag module.
7. Remove air bag module.


CAUTION:
- Store the air bag module in accordance with the storage procedures.
- If air bag module is to be replaced the serial numbers must be recorded.


REFIT
1. Reverse removal procedure.
2. Tighten air bag module securing screws to 8Nm (6 ft lb).

CAUTION: Take care not to cross thread screws.

3. Check supplementary restraint system using TestBook *.
