Service Action H8O5 - 1993 Range Rover County LWB
In order to improve the starting quality of the 1993 Range Rover LWB the Factory has developed a new PROM (Programmable Read Only Memory) chip for the Engine Control Module (ECM). The new PROM is currently being installed at our U.S. Ports on all County LWB's.
To ensure customer satisfaction and uniformity, all vehicles already in service will be updated at the next service opportunity. Update any unmodified in-stock vehicles during PDI.
No customer notification will be made.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
^ All 1993 Range Rover County LWB vehicles not previously updated.
^ Port updated vehicles are identified with a Service Campaign label on the radiator support panel near the vehicle emissions label.
^ A safe VIN will be announced by E-Mail once known.
DEALER WORK PROCEDURE
1. Review the PROM exchange work procedure and Quality Check Procedure in Service Bulletin P91-001 US - pages 4, 5 and 6. (P91-001 US is reprinted in the 1991 Service Bulletin Manual Part No.: RRNA0008MA.)
2. Remove the right front seat access panel and ECM from the vehicle.
3. Replace the original PROM with PRM3100 per the procedure found in P91-001 US.
4. Perform the Quality Check Procedure and install the ECM label provided with PRM3100.
5. Reinstall the ECM and access panel.
6. Complete and affix a Service Campaign label as shown below. Protect the label with the clear acrylic cover provided with PRM3100.

Initial quantities of PRM3lOO are in short supply as we are updating vehicles at the ports at the same time. You will receive, depending on dealer size, one or two PROM's directly from LRNA Parts. These should be used to satisfy current customer complaints. Initial re-ordering through the parts system will require you to fax the Parts Department in Lanham, listing the customer's VIN. Once larger quantities are available, normal parts ordering will resume. We will notify you when this happens.
