Procedure 8 - Install Reinforcement Bracket to Rear (RH) Motor

PROCEDURE 8: V00477 - V10285

NOTE:
Panoramic roof shown removed for clarity.

NOTE:
The RH rear grab handle must be removed for standard wheelbase (SWB) vehicles.

NOTE:
Rear (RH) motor located above RH rear grab handle.

1. Open Panoramic roof rear sun blind.





2. Remove Panoramic roof rear (RH) blind motor:

^ Remove two Torx bolts.

CAUTION:
Ensure any excess glue is removed from the casting prior to installation of the reinforcement bracket.





3. Inspect the casting assembly for excess glue; carefully remove as necessary.

NOTE:
New motor and casting assemblies have the reinforcement brackets already installed If the vehicle has had a new motor and casting assembly replaced as part of a previous repair, the reinforcement bracket may already be installed Do not install a bracket in this case.

NOTE:
Ensure the bracket is fully seated before reinstalling the motor.

4. Using pliers, squeeze the bracket into position to install the reinforcement bracket.

CAUTION:
Ensure the motor is located correctly on the dowels.

CAUTION:
Ensure the harness is located correctly above the motor; failure to do so will prevent the motor from locating correctly.





5. Install the motor:

^ Apply Loctite(R) 263 to the end of the threads of the Torx bolts.

^ Install and torque bolts to 4.0Nm (3.0lbf ft).

6. Continue to next appropriate Repair Procedure.
