Front Subframe
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.
- Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.
- The TAS color illustrations use a variety of symbols to indicate important details of the procedures. It is important to understand these symbols in order to properly used the TAS procedures.

Removal

WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
1 Raise and support the vehicle.
2 Remove both the front wheels and tires.

3 Secure the radiator assembly.
WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
4 Raise and support the vehicle.

5 Lower the vehicle.
CAUTION: Make sure to protect the paintwork.
6 Support the engine with the lifting equipment.

7 Raise and support the vehicle.
NOTE:
Note the fitted position of each bolt, mark the washers and sub-frame before removal to aid assembly.

This step requires the aid of another technician.

Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

Torque to: 55 Nm

1 Install the special tool to the front subframe.

2 Install the special tool to the front subframe.

Step 1: 80 Nm
Step 2: 240 degree
3 Remove the special tool.

Step 2: 270 degree
5 Lower the vehicle.
CAUTION: Make sure to protect the paintwork.
6 Remove the special tool supporting the engine.

M6: 9 Nm
M10: 40 Nm
WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
7 Raise and support the vehicle.
CAUTION: Make sure each bolt aligns with the removal markings.
Torque to: 175 Nm

8 Release the radiator assembly.
