Removal
1 Drain the fuel tank. For additional information, refer to Fuel Tank Draining Procedures
2 Remove the exhaust system. For additional information, refer to Exhaust System

3 Remove the axle assembly. For additional information, refer to Axle Assembly Axle Assembly [3.0L/4.2L/2.7L Diesel]
4 Remove both the upper arms. For additional information, refer to Upper Arm Upper Arm
5 Disconnect the electric parking brake electrical connector.
6 Detach the wiring harness.
7 Detach the fuel filler hose.

Detach the shock absorber.

NOTE:

Remove the rear subframe reinforcement plate retaining bolts.
10 Install the special tool to support the rear subframe.

Remove the rear subframe rear retaining bolt.

Remove the rear subframe front retaining bolt.
13 Remove the rear subframe.
Installation
1 Install the rear subframe.

NOTE:
Left-hand shown, right-hand similar.
Loosely install the rear subframe front bolt.
3 Loosely install the rear subframe reinforcement plate bolts.
4 Tighten to retaining bolt.
- Tighten to 80 Nm.
- Tighten a further 240 degrees.

Install the rear subframe rear retaining bolt.
- Tighten to 125 Nm.
6 Remove the special tool.

NOTE:

Install the rear subframe reinforcement plate retaining bolts.
- Tighten to 47 Nm.

Right-hand shown, left-hand similar.
Install the shock absorber.
Tighten to 133 Nm.
9 Connect the fuel filler hose.
10 Attach the wiring harness.
11 Connect the electric parking brake electrical connector.
12 Install both upper arms. For additional information, refer to Upper Arm Upper Arm
13 Install the axle assembly. For additional information, refer to Axle Assembly Axle Assembly [3.0L/4.2L/2.7L Diesel]
14 Install the exhaust system. For additional information, refer to Exhaust System

15 Refill the fuel tank.
16 Using only four-wheel alignment equipment approved by Jaguar, check the wheel alignment, and adjust if required.
