Speed Control Module Alignment - Module Software Level - Repair Procedure
Issue:
In the event of a problem with the Adaptive Cruise Control system on 2004-05 MY XK vehicles, within the above VIN range, WDS software release JTP 759/33 or later must be used when carrying out the speed control module alignment setup and check procedure.
The latest WDS software will check the software level of the speed control module to identify modules with a non-robust level of software. If the software level is within a specific range, the speed control will be inhibited and a screen will be displayed stating module software level incorrect.
The speed control module may NOT be aligned correctly after carrying out speed control module alignment setup and check procedures if using WDS software release JTP 759/32 or earlier.
Note:
When the vehicle is delivered from the factory the speed control module is aligned correctly.
Action:
If WDS instructs the technician to replace the adaptive speed control module and submit an EPQR, install a new speed control module, following the procedure outlined below.
