Memory Seats - Front Seat Harness Interference With Adjuster Mechanism - Service Action S951

Issue:

A concern has been identified on 2004 MY X-TYPE vehicles, within the above VIN range, equipped with memory seats only. The front seat harness could catch in the seat height adjuster mechanism resulting in damage to the harness.

Action:

Inspect the driver seat harness and front passenger seat harness for signs of damage. If no damage is evident, the front seat harnesses must be cable-tied through the seat belt cover mechanism to position and hold the harness away from the adjuster mechanism.

If damage to a seat harness is evident, that seat harness must be replaced as described in this bulletin.

Unsold vehicles should be repaired prior to hand over to the customer. Sold vehicles should be repaired at the first available opportunity.

Use DDW to determine vehicle eligibility prior to confirming work requirements as some vehicles within the above VIN range have been reworked prior to dispatch.

DDW has been updated so that only those vehicles still affected by this Service Action will be displayed.
