Fuel Rail: Service and Repair



Removal

1. Depressurize the fuel system. Fuel Pressure Release
2. Remove the wiring harness. Service and Repair





3. Disconnect the fuel pulse damper electrical connector and vacuum hose.





4. Remove the fuel supply manifold retaining bolt.





5. Remove the fuel supply manifold and lower intake manifold.





6. Remove the left-hand lower intake manifold.
Remove the retaining bolt.
Remove the left-hand lower intake manifold.





7. Remove the right-hand lower intake manifold.
Remove the retaining bolts.
Remove the right-hand lower intake manifold.





8. Remove the fuel injectors





9. Remove the fuel pulse damper.


Installation

WARNING: DO NOT SMOKE OR CARRY LIGHTED TOBACCO OR OPEN FLAME OF ANY TYPE WHEN WORKING ON OR NEAR ANY FUEL RELATED COMPONENTS. HIGHLY FLAMMABLE VAPORS ARE ALWAYS PRESENT AND CAN IGNITE. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAN RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY.





1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

NOTE: Install new fuel injector O-ring seals.

NOTE: Install new lower intake manifold gaskets.

Lubricate the fuel injector O-ring seals with clean engine oil.
