Rattling or knocking Noise in Engine Compartment - Replace Fuel Line





Issue:
Some 1998 XJR vehicles may experience a knocking or rattling noise in the engine compartment under high engine load. The noise is caused by fuel pulsation that is amplified by the rigidity of the fuel return line between the fuel rail (illustration 1) and the return pipe on the vehicle.

Action:
In case of a customer complaint of the above condition, replace the existing line with the hose listed in the Parts Information.
