Evaporative Emissions System: Description and Operation

The EVAP system is designed to prevent fuel vapor from escaping to atmosphere. A single carbon canister, horizontally-mounted in the fuel line, absorbs the fuel vapor and is installed above the front left hand wheel arch. This system, which also incorporates a Rochester valve, is installed on the front firewall extension.
