Oil Pressure - Gauge Reads Zero/Needle Flickers New Transmitter Introduced

ISSUE:

Oil pressure gauge needle reading zero or flickering, and the low oil pressure warning light is NOT on, due to rapid wear of the oil pressure transmitter resistance coil.

ACTION:

A new oil pressure transmitter (DAC 11141) incorporating a damping orifice was introduced at VIN 185010.

If the above conditions occur on pre-VIN 185010 vehicles, the new transmitter can be installed using Repair Operation 12.60.50 in the XJS Service Manual.
