Cylinder Liner: Service and Repair

- Remove pistons and connecting rods. Refer to Engine/Cylinder Block Assembly.
- Remove JD 41 cylinder liner brackets and remove the cylinder liners, noting their location relative to the cylinder block.

NOTE: Liners are graded, and are stamped 'A' (red - 89.98 mm ID) or 'B' (green - 90.01 mm ID). New liners MUST be the same grade as the old ones.

- Thoroughly clean the crankcase and all components, be sure that all galleries are clear and unobstructed. Blow through with dry, clean compressed air.
- Examine all components for wear and damage. Replace worn or damaged components as necessary.
- Fit the new cylinder liners using a thin seal of Hylomar between liner and block. Be sure both sealing surfaces are clean.
- Refit JD 41 cylinder liner brackets.
- Refit pistons and rods.
