Vacuum Advance Control Solenoid: Description and Operation

A solenoid vacuum valve is fitted under the rear of the right intake manifold. It is operated by a timer relay and vents distributor vacuum to atmosphere for 45 seconds after each engine start. This eliminates ignition timing advance until relay opens.
