Power Steering Pressure Switch: Description and Operation

The Power Steering Pressure Switch sends a signal to the ECM when pressure is above a certain level. This signal causes the ECM to disengage the A/C compressor clutch, thereby preventing excess load on the engine and possible stalling during low speed maneuvering. The ECM will also raise idle speed via the idle air control valve.
