Cylinder head bolts

Cylinder head bolts are tightened by plastic zone tightening
method. Whenever the size difference between (B) and (A)
exceeds the limit, replace them with new one.





c : 48 mm (1.89 in)
d : 11 mm (0.43 in)
Limit [(B) - (A)] : 0.18 mm (0.0071 in)









A : Bank 1
B : Bank 2

Tighten all bolts 105 N-m (11 kg-m, 77 ft-lb)

In reverse order:
Completely loosen all bolts 0 N-m (0 kg-m, 0 ft-lb)

Tighten all bolts 40.0 N-m (4.1 kg-m, 30 ft-lb)
Tighten all bolts 95 degrees
Tighten all bolts 95 degrees again

Camshaft Bearing Cap Bolts





First pass 1.96 Nm (0.20 kg-m, 1 ft-lb)
Second pass 5.88 Nm (0.60 kg-m, 4 ft-lb)
Final pass 10.4 Nm (1.1 kg-m, 8 ft-lb)


Cylinder Head Distortion

Standard Less than 0.03 mm (0.0012) in
Limit 0.1 mm (0.004) in
