Service Procedure - Part 2





41. Remove the rear lifter motor; 3 nuts. Set the motor aside for now.





42. Remove the front lifter motor; 4 nuts. Set the motor aside for now.





43. Set the lifter motor lead screws to about the center of travel.

NOTE:
Do not replace the lead screws. There are two new lead screws in the Nut and Bolt Kit that will not be used in this procedure.





44. Install the front lifter motor; 4 nuts.

^ Use new nuts:

^ Nut Torque: 19 N.m (2.0 Kg-m, 14 ft.lb)

NOTE:
There is no need to set a specific position of the lead screw or the lifter.





45. Install the rear lifter motor; 3 nuts.

^ Use new nuts.

^ Nut Torque: 19 N.m (2.0 Kg-m, 14 ft.lb)

NOTE:
There is no need to set a specific position of the lead screw or the lifter.





46. Install the seat control unit; 2 bolts.





47. Reinstall the seat control switch and mount the harness as shown.

48. Set the seat cushion frame in place; do not install the nuts at this time.





49. Install the 6 plastic trim parts (shown in Figure 40) and the necessary screws.





50. Hold the seatback close enough to connect the 2 reclining motor connectors.





51. Put the seatback in place and install the 4 seatback bolts; 2 on each side.

^ Bolt torque: 49 N.m (5.0 Kg-m, 36 ft.lb)

CAUTION:
Do not pinch the wire harnesses.





52. Make sure the trim material is pulled all the way to the left and right.





53. Attach the center plastic hook.

54. Attach the fabric and plastic trim with clips.

55. Install the screw.

NOTE:
Make sure the air bag harness is under the foam as shown.





56. Attach the plastic side hooks.





57. If equipped; connect the seat climate control connector.

58. If equipped with seat climate control; route the harness behind the air duct.

59. Attach harness mounting clips.





60. Lift the seat cushion frame; use string to hold it UP.

NOTE:
Use cloth to protect the seat material.





61. Connect the seat control unit and rear lift motor connectors.

Make sure the connectors going to the rear lift motor are coming off of the seat control unit branch.





62. Attach the harness mounts and front lift motor connector as shown below.

^ Make sure the connector going to the front lift motor is the one shown in the Figure below. Make sure the harness mount on the left is secured around the corrugated part of harness.





63. Connect slide motor and seat control switch connectors.





64. Mount connectors as shown below.





65. Attach and route harness as shown.

IMPORTANT:
Make sure the harness is routed and secured so it will not be rubbed or pinched when the power seat motors are operated.





66. Install the seat cushion frame support bar.

^ Make sure the arrows on the bar are pointing forward. Use the paper washers to hold the bar in place.





67. Remove the string and place the seat cushion frame back into its original mounting position.

68. Reinstall the 4 seat cushion frame nuts.

^ Nut torque:

17 - 23 N.m (1.7 - 2.3 Kg-m, 13 - 17 ft.lb)





69. Reinstall the seat cushion.

At the rear of the cushion; slide the cloth pieces under the seatback.





70. From the back of the seat on the left side pull the long strap from the cushion under the seatback as shown.





71. Pull the cloth fasteners from the seat cushion and attach them around the climate control duct. Fasten them together with the fabric hook and loop fastener ends.





72. Pull the long cloth fastener strap over the harness and attach it as shown.





73. Pull and attach the rear seat cushion hook.





74. Install the seatback board.

a. Slide back board UP

b. Snap clips in place Use new clips: P/N 86901-2J020





75. Re-attach the 5 harness support clips and the left side seat cushion hook.





76. Re-attach the front and right side seat cushion hooks.





77. Re-assemble the rest of the seat working backwards from step 10 to step 1.

NOTE:
When reinstalling the side-finishers make sure to slide the inside hook of the finisher onto the finisher support as shown.

78. Reconnect both battery cables (positive cable first).

79. Reset the clock and the radio station programs.

80. Make sure all seat functions operate correctly.

81. Test drive the vehicle and make sure the incident is fixed.
