SERVICE PROCEDURE B: NATS C/U Initialization, Add/Register Intelligent Key ID for IVIS [NATS], and Steering Lock Unit ID Registration

Before starting this procedure, please read the following:

NATS C/U Initialization

^ For CONSULT-II: Use the NATS (purple) Program Card version AEN04A-1 or later.

^ When the Intelligent Key is registered two registration procedures (C/U INITIALIZATION and Intelligent Key ID registration) should be performed.

C/U INITIALIZATION: This procedure registers the ID for IVIS [NATS] stored to the transponder (integrated into the Intelligent Key) to the BCM.

Intelligent Key ID Registration: This procedure registers the ID for Intelligent Key System to the Intelligent Key unit.

^ Always check the function of all Intelligent Keys after registration.

^ It is highly recommended that you read through this entire service procedure before doing it for the first time.

Add / Register Intelligent Key ID for IVIS [NATS]

^ This procedure will complete the NATS C/U Initialization and Key ID Registration for Intelligent Keys (ID for NATS).

^ Before proceeding with Key Registration all existing ignition keys to the vehicle must be collected from the customer. All prior key IDs will be erased once the process is started and the earlier keys will not start the vehicle. All ignition keys that are going to be used for the vehicle must be present available and registered during Key Registration or THEY WILL NOT START THE VEHICLE.

^ When additional Intelligent Key ID for IVIS [NATS] are to be registered all existing Intelligent Keys must also be registered at the same time. ANY KEYS THAT ARE NOT REGISTERED AT THIS TIME WILL NOT START THE VEHICLE.

^ This procedure must be completed before completing Intelligent Key ID Registration (Service Procedure A).

^ Use NATS (purple) Program Card version AEN04A-1 or later.

^ It is highly recommended that you read through the entire service procedure before doing it for the first time.

Steering Lock Unit ID Registration

^ DO NOT use [REGIST STRG LOCK ID] on CONSULT.

^ This procedure is required only after replacing the Intelligent Key Control Unit and/or replacing the Steering Lock Unit with a used unit. A "used unit" is one that has been installed in a vehicle and operated.

^ You must have at least one registered Intelligent Key to complete the Steering Lock Unit ID Registration.

^ Use the NATS (purple) Program Card version AEN04A-1 or later.

^ It is highly recommended that you read through the entire service procedure before doing it for the first time.
